Would you pay this much for an S3, or is it crackpipe?

Very small, AWD, 228hp and a stick.

For another $605 you could have an S4 http://www.sanjoseaudi.com/new/Audi/2016-…

Or an M235i with some cash for gas.

Maybe if it was a hatchback. (no, not really)

I wouldn’t, but that seems to be the going rate for a 300-ish HP 4 door with a German lux badge on it. The 340i and C450 also retail for that.

Not a shot. I’d rather have a CLA45 for that price. The regular cla may be a total piece of shit, but in amg trim it hilariously fun to drive. So Cp based on personal opinion.

Fuck yes..... For $58,000

Much better choice than the M235i and the hideous melted CLA45.

Hell yea. But even that is probably still like 48 grand.

And the sad part is those are non performance trims, meaning now M Sport or AMG sport trims. And when you look at the details of these cars some of the trim pieces aren’t even worth the price.

I Dunno it starts at £25k here where the S3 is £34k

That’s almost 37 thousand here. Compare that with American car dealership price gouging for almost anything (especially if its a special model. Don’t know if European dealerships do the same thing) and it would hit the mid 40’s in some places.

We do pay hefty taxes on new cars. Those prices do include 20% value added tax. It is difficult to work out the prices vs the US but a mustang is a hell of a lot more cash here (now we can get them) than in the US.

I’d bet no one actually does pay ~$50k cash for these things. The depreciation on them next year is gonna be brutal because everyone who buys new luxury does it through some form of financing deal. Many who live this way will not accept a used car, even if it means no more monthly payments.

Fine by me, of course. A $20k 340i with a carmax warranty a few years from now sounds delish.

If you must have the fastest Skittle on the road the Glut Orange, Viper Green, Vegas Yellow cars will carry a price of $59,900, a difference of $18,800. Only five cars will be made in each color.

Heh that’s even at a fairly deep discount. Give me a Golf R for $20k less.

Ford Focus RS? That ticks all those boxes, and with 350HP... but it is £30.
